The house was built at the very beginning of the 20th century with basaltic stones extracted from the mine above the village – which was in operation up until very recently.
From the outset, and until the end of the century, she sheltered winemaker’s generations who stored their product in the ground floor tanks, along with stabling for the last traditional working horse of the village.
The current owners, in appreciation of her character and beauty, decided to restore the house and soon realised it to be a comfortable holiday home; and before long, was made available visitors of the whole world. The majority of whom are driven by curiosity to discover this region of France, which besides the peculiarity of it’s climate and the wealth of history, plays host to numerous exceptional sites all within an hour’s drive.
The restoration project saw the house furnished with remastered antiquities in addition to a few modern creations, giving the lasting impression of a traditional property with a somewhat contemporary feel.
In this spirit, it is clear that the house gives a welcoming feel and is purposely designed for the pleasure and comfort of visitors.
Our ambition is that you take home lasting memories of a happy and enriching stay, in an authentic and comfortable environment.
